As impartial as I like to be, Sajid is right.
I mean, although there's no thread about rules, it's common sense to keep ref links to the trading area.
It wouldn't of been tolerated on another freebie forum. You've been on both this site and another freebie forum, so you can't claim ignorance as an excuse.
Just make sure you keep referral links to the trade section, or pm's. |

| Ok. But I say again, I just wasn't thinking, and I certainly was NOT advertising it! I just saw over 5 ref links in the last two days browsing, so I thought it's allowed! Anyway sorry. |

That's a nice banner.
I'd recommend not showing it on this thread as somebody might decide to steal it (so if you want someone to see it, PM it to them)... But it's up to you whether you keep it or not.
If sajidibby's not interested, you could always trade it for a green in the trading section (although you'd have to make sure it was a trusted member, because some people might be looking to do you over...).
Anyways, good luck. |

yeh mate heres what i want:
- pics of a ps3, wii, iphone, xbox, macbook air, and a HDTV on.
- A background colour that looks good to u
- in the middle i need it to say " click here for your free gift!"
- And make it a good wide banner, not too tall
and make sure you PM it me, dont want anyone to rob it... |
I have a lot of experience in marketing and advertising online and I can offer some advice for anyone creating a banner.
Use a white background, or if you really must use a colour then yellow. I don't really know why these colours attract the most clicks, but they do. White text on black background is a big no-no.
Give the banner a border, either dashed or solid. It stands out more and attracts more clicks.
Place your banner in an odd shape or a circle. In a world of rectangular banners it will attract more clicks.
Make it VERY obvious what you're offering. If all your ad says is "click here for your free gift" with pictures of expensive products, people will click away immediately when they realise they actually have to do something to get their free gift, even if they only have to sign up for a free trial of something. Better to be honest with them from the start. "FREE PS3 when you sign-up for a free trial of LoveFilm and refer some friends".
Targeted ads are MUCH more successful. An ad for a free PS3 on a blog about Apple Mac's isn't going to attract as many clicks as if you match the product better with your target audience. Catch alls (displaying lots of products to a wide ranging and untargeted audience) will be far less successful than a highly targeted ad.
I hope someone finds these comments useful.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention that banners come in several standard sizes. I have listed the dimensions of the most common banner (horizontal) ads and skyscrapers (vertical) below.
728x90 (leaderboard)
468x60 (banner)
120x600 (skyscraper)
160x600 (wide skyscraper) |
