I'm in need of a new laptop (mine should be shipped off the to museum)..and was looking at these broadband deals - which seem to offer a 'free' laptop. Anyone signed up for this? I think you have to enter into a 2 year deal, but just wondering if the laptops are any good, or whether you need to spend ££s upgrading.
thanks!

This deal looks pretty good. From what I gather, there are two deals at the moment. One is a free dell laptop (Microsoft's Windows Vista Home Basic OS, 1GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, an Intel Celeron processor and Wi-Fi) with a 2 year AOL broadband contract from Carphone Warehouse.

The other is a free laptop made by Ei systems when you sign up for a 2 year Orange contract (available at the Carphone Warehouse). The laptop from Orange isn't as good as the one from AOL though (Windows XP Home, 256MB of RAM and a 40GB hard drive but doesn't have Wi-Fi), but the broadband is cheaper at only £14.99 per month.

Has anyone signed up for these deals and got a free laptop?
