There's probably 3 main ways to gain referrals.
The most popular method that ive seen, is creating professional looking websites, that basically look like there informing you on how the referral sites work, but in actual fact... the links you use are the website owners referral link!

Alot of people just try with sending emails to everyone on there hotmail account, i doubt this works as much because people see emails like these as spam or virus'.. so instead of sending email's to everyone the best way is to probably send a more personal message with something relating to the person like saying something about music they like. This way they know its not a virus sending the links.

The other way is conga's, now these often get slowed down by somone replying late. From what's been posted here already, it looks like this forum is going to have some conga's set up Smile. As long as these keep moving at a steady speed everyone will be getting there free items soon!

As long as your creative with where you place your link, you'll get your offers completed eventually. Most people just send a few emails and give up. Just think how many millions of people are in the UK and you need 10-15 for your free item.

Thank you for your input Shadowraider. You're right - the trick is to be creative! As well as the methods you mentioned, there are loads of other methods such as bebo/myspace/etc. pages, google adwords (there are often free £30 vouchers available), flyers, classified ads, link advertisement websites, blogs, etc.

We are currently have a system for advertising referral links on Gimme4free. Anyone can have their link advertised under the banners on our site. We continue to refine this system, and as the site grows, we expect this will be an excellent way to get credits.

My only tip would be to have patience and persevere. getting freebies is not a piece of cake it takes alot of dedication. stick with it and keep trying out methods until you find one that works for you.

Another tip, which I have learned the hard way, is to start small (i.e. nano or shuffle) and then build up to the PS3 or macbook

Going for 13 referrals is only going to result in you getting bored, and giving up

Perseverance is the key - and freebies are never really free, are they...

Ive been doing this for a couple of years and ive had a PSP about a year-and-a-half ago and 2 wii's in the last couple of months. A lot of them friends and trades but better than paying £100+
(i had to pay for the offers on some friends sign ups)

Just keep going, try new methods and it will come.
