Is your graphics card powerful enough to run such a large display?
Have you tried various resolutions?
Have you tried connecting it to A.N.Other display to eliminate the possibility of a duff cable?
Have you connected the Laptop to another screen before, and did it work then? |

Check your display settings and make sure that the VGA output is selected as the main diaplay otherwise it will still display on the laptop. You should be able to have dual displays if the graphics card will handle it.
Are you using vista or XP? _________________ Free iPhone 3GS

K i can confirm that the samsung help are s***t!!!! here is what is sent them
I am trying to connect my Vista laptop (Advent Qc430) to my samsung LE32A457C1D tv I i have bought a VGA to VGA cable and have linked up the laptop from its VGA slot to the TVs 'PC' slot. Nothing happens when i do this when i try to go to the pc extension channel i cannot get to it as it does recognise anything being there. I have set up all the settings on the computer correctly and the VGA is not faulty as i can succesfully connect the laptop to my friends sony TV.
Thnx for your help
note especially where i said that "the VGA cable is not faulty as i have....."
Here is the reply that i got
Dear Michael Killoran
Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.
With regard to your email concerning your Samsung TV, have you tried
replacing the VGAcable?
I hope this has been of some assistance to you. If you do have any
further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
Siobhan Mack

Hmmm… Technical support - the 7th circle of hell for all involved!
I could only suggest that you google your graphics card specs and see what kind of display it can drive.
I'm kinda sceptical that VGA would drive a 32“ screen, but hey, what would I know?
I'm also tempted to say that you ditch windows anyway, but that wouldn't help you either.
Good luck! |
