Tips on increasing website traffic?

Hi all,

Thought i'd start a new thread to help us getting the advice going in here!

Anyone got any good (and preferably free) tips as how to get people visiting your website? I've got a basic webpage set up and a blog to help me get referrals but i'm struggling to get a good number of visitors to both. Any ideas?

There are alot of viral sites which do greatly increase traffic.

Also headr traffic swarm can be quite effective.

I just sighned upto traffic swarm. it said its free...but how exactly does it work. And is it the best free traffic exchange site?

Now that its been a while since your last post - how has traffic swarm worked out for you?

As the owner of a website myself, I'm just interested to hear how these things work out for people.

i always find the problem with these traffic sites is that you do not get quality visitors, most are visiting just to get credits to get hits on their own site. The only thing this does is increase the amount of hits your site getts but rarely will you get any click thrus or quality visits from them.

Traffic swarm gave me traffic for about 4 days but it didnt convert into any yellows/greens so i dropped it. People just click on your link to get credits they dont even bother looking at the website.

Its better to work on your site SEO wise and try and get it higher in google for your keyword, this will generate the right kind of traffic.
