trade scammers

I really think Gimme4free should be doing more to prevent scams, trades are built on trust and if no one trusts each other when trading, what's the point?

Maybe people wishing to trade should leave a bond of £10 or £20, that way if they don't keep their side of the trade, they lose the bond. That would soon stop any scams, and whenever you want the bond back you can get it back, but you can't trade.

I think every genuine person wishing to trade would welcome this change, I have been conned 3 times and will not trade with anyone now as I can't be sure they are genuine.

Hi Andy, your frustration at scammers is understandable, however it is very difficult to moderate what is essentially a trust based system. We already have a feedback system in place, so you can leave negative feedback for scammers, although this obviously is not the most useful tool if the person you are trading with has zero feedback.

We will look into additional measures to ensure the trading process goes more smoothly in the future. The bond system you suggest is interesting, we will take it into consideration when devising a better system for trading.
