No, as admin has decided he might close this competition. People are just scamming their way to the top of the 'top 10 referrals' list. All your referrals posted once or twice then never showed themselves again, hence not giving this forum any new members in the classic sense of the word.

I'm sorry, I can see andyphonics point here. If the admins had decided to end this competition then it should have been stated after last months competition or at least somewhere in this forum and at the very least this thread wouldnt have been created. Its not exactly fair to suddenly say that the comp has ended and that the winner wont get his prize.

On another forum (the one you detest so much, probably because you were banned?) I have referred many people but I was told that only 1 or 2 went on to post more than a handful of posts. Many people join to have a look and get tips but never post and some join to take a look and arent interested. Its not exactly fair to penalise a member because people don't post.

In my opinion (not that it carries any weight) is that the prize should be honoured this month as a gesture of goodwill and then scrapped. It would be nice to recognise andys work even if those referrals didnt seem interested enough to post.

Listen, it's good to have opinions, but when you don't know what you're talking about, It's best just to keep quiet! I don't mean that at all in a rude way, but you're not aware of certain things. There are things we haven't disclosed, and other reasons why admin has decided to scrap this competition for now. Oh, and as for 'that other forum', it's full of uptight people who think they know it all, not to mention a ban happy admin. Yes, I was banned there, so were two of the other MODs on this site, but we're not discussing that now, so please keep your opinions either to yourself, of post in the correct section.

The fact remains that you had 7 people who posted a few times, and haven't shown their faces since. And you'll have to wait for the admin if you have any further questions.

It's not my fault they have not been back to the site.

Where in the competition rules did it say people had to keep comming back to the site?

Apologies for my absence the past week, I was unable to participate in the forums for reasons out of my control.

I have decided to put an end to the monthly competitions, as it is clear that people are taking advantage of the system. The competition was intitially implemented to encourage new members to the forum and to provide our current members with a larger community.

However, taking a close look at the quality of the referrals, it is obvious that the system is being abused. The majority of referrals have made one post and never participated again. Furthermore, a number of referrals have been seen to be posting from identical IP addresses, constituting fraudulent activity.

We operate zero tolerance on suspected fraud cases, as you would expect with any other freebie site you participate in. Therefore, we have decided to close the competitions for the moment until we can implement a system which is not so susceptible to fraudulent activity.
